Every decision you make is a "Point of Change".

 What decision you make determines

the direction you will go!

Let God's Grace Heal You and Your Loved Ones

Welcome to Point of Change Christian Counseling! At our office in Longview, TX.  We offer professional and faith-based therapy to individuals of all ages, from children (ages 6 to 10) to preteens/tweens (ages 11 to 13) to adolescents/teenagers (ages 14 to 19) to adults to elders (ages 65 and above).

We provide trauma and other counseling for Veterans, as well the more familiar streamline counseling methods.  Our services are available in both English and Spanish.

The Lord has us working with tweens and teens and the full spectrum of issues they are

dealing with in life, family, friends, and school.

We also have an extensive client base in premarital and marital counseling,

as well as women leaving abusive relationships.

We work heavily with children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse.

Marriage, blended families, identity, self-esteem, trauma, abuse, parenting, and dealing

with tough tween and teen issues and grief are a huge part of our practice.

Meet our Founder and Primary Counseling Provider

Jason T. Jenkins, MABC, LPC

In 2013, Jason graduated with a Master of Arts in Biblical and Professional Counseling (MABC) degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from East Texas Baptist University.

For the last 25 years, Jason has worked with children and youth of all ages. For the last 20 years, Jason has served as a leader in numerous Children’s Ministries. Jason was the Children’s Director at Gateway Baptist Church (2013-2014) in Whitehouse, Texas. He served as a lay leader at First Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas (where he worked youth and college-age children) and is currently serving with his wife, as lay leaders for the children’s ministry and Life Group Fellowship at New Covenant Church in Longview, Texas.

Jason has no doubt that the Lord has called him to work with children and families. In addition to these

things, Jason feels he has been called on to help women who have left abusive relationships and are

looking for a new direction in their life as well as men who are dealing with temptations

(whatever they may be) that are unhealthy for themselves and all those around them.

He believes that although we were made perfect in God’s image, we are imperfect in our daily lives

because of living in a fallen world. We are a work in progress and sometimes need someone to

walk with us as we struggle through life’s trials. Jason has a passion for helping children and

families counseling with them through some of life’s greatest struggles.

Jason is a fully trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) provider that can treat

individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, trauma, as well as other mental health issues.

Other areas of focus are, but not limited to, premarital counseling, blended family issues,

marriage/family, grief/bereavement, parenting, teenage mentoring, children who may be struggling

at home, in school, or new and significant changes in life as they have known it. Other areas

of focus include divorce, play or art therapy methods of interaction, attention deficit disorder,

high functioning spectrum disorders, anxiety, working with “Tween” age children

(7-19yrs old), depression, and spiritual issues.

Jason and his wife have been married for 23 years, have two very

active boys (ages 20 and 13), and live in the East Texas area.

"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful;

But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

This is a group setting that addresses many biblical issues within the home. It also deals with building up and strengthening families as they work through rejection and unforgiveness. It also discusses how to minister to/reach to husbands, wives, and children and the many differences in the way each family member communicates with others. It also discusses trauma and offenses and how to heal from them.
